Filey became the star of the show during January when the BBC Comedy drama Sugartown was filmed on location in the town. Shops on the main street were transformed into Maxxxs Casino and Locks of Fun hair dressers.
The three part pilot will be screened in spring and has been produced by the independant production company Shed Productions for the BBC.
The story revolves around the fictional town of Sugartown and a seaside rock factory. Most of the filming has taken place on John Street with addional scenes shot on the sea front and even in the sea!
The Filming has involved a crew of around 100 people along with a huge amount of equipment.
The Director and Producer stayed at Flora Dora Cottage during the 10 week duration of the filming..
